Status and limits
- Distributed as a field-test beta, not yet qualified for long unattended monitoring.
- Verified on hardware: USB, flash storage, GNSS reception and on-board processing at lake sites, Iridium delivery end to end (a real 40-byte message received in the Cloudloop console), firmware updates, watchdog recovery.
- Not yet qualified: real power consumption and battery autonomy, long unattended runs (72 h bench, 7–14 days at an accessible site), the Campaign mode end to end in the field.
- All-azimuth Campaign results are exploratory: reflections can come from terrain, buildings or vegetation, not only water.
- Single-frequency L1 C/N0 with a small patch antenna: precision is lower than with geodetic equipment; calm, wide water gives the best results.
- A reflexa micro unit measures water level only. It is not a real-time alarm: it works in sessions and reports a summary. Continuous monitoring and displacement are done by GeoGuard units.
The planned qualification steps are listed in Field tests.
